On my last trip to Copenhagen with my family, we decided to take two-day trips. The first of which to Malmo, Sweeden. We figured this way we can say we've been to two countries on one trip!
Getting to Malmo was very easy and not troublesome at all. There is a train line called orestung that goes right from Noreport station straight to Malmo Central station. The ride is only about 40 minutes long and the train runs about every hour or so. The train crosses through a very famous bridge that connects the two countries. It was built in 2000 and served as an economic boost for Malmo after an economic recession in the 1990s.
After arriving at Malmo, we participated in a free walking tour of the city. I am a firm believer in these walking tours if you can. Often times you learn many things about the local culture that you wouldn't have known any other time.
The tour lasted about 2-3 hours and took us around some of the famous sites of Malmo.
After the walking tour, we decided to participate in one of Sweeden's famous traditions of Fika which is essentially a coffee break for everyone no matter what they're doing. We found an adorable coffee shop that is well known in town and ordered a cappuccino and cinnamon bun.
We then enjoyed the rest of the city before we headed back to Copenhagen
